یہ بیماری زیادہ در تک بیٹھے رہنے والے لوگوں میں عام ہے۔ یہ جلد کے نیچے بالوں کے جلد میں مڑ جانے اور مردہ خلیات کے جمع ہو جانے کے باعث بنتی ہے۔ اس میں انفیکشن کے باعث یہ درد اور تکلیف کا سبب بن سکتی ہے۔ اس کو علاج سرجری کے ذریعے کیا جاتا ہے۔ یہ بیماری مردوں اور نوجوانوں میں زیادہ پائی جاتی ہے اور اکثر علاج کے بعد دوبارہ سامنے آنے کے امکانات بھی موجود ہوتے ہیں۔

A pilonidal cyst is an abnormally formed structure under the skin that resembles a pocket or a tunnel. It is normally filled with the debris of skin, hair, fluid, and pus. these can lead to the formation of cysts or abscess.  A pilonidal cyst is almost near the coccyx. Pilonicid cysts usually occur when the hair is pricked and embedded in the skin. When a pilonidal cyst is infected, the resulting abscess is usually extremely painful. The cyst can be emptied or surgically removed by a small incision. Pilonicid cysts are more common in young men and the problem tends to reappear. People who sit for a long time, such as truck drivers, are at greater risk of developing a pilonidal cyst.
