Pakistan is going to receive around 5.6 million coronavirus vaccine doses by the end of this March.
The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) released the statement on Sunday that around 5.6 doses of coronavirus vaccines doses will arrive in the country in March. Out of 5.6 million COVID-19 doses, at least 2.8 doses of Gavi/COVAX are expected to arrive in the very first week of March and the remaining doses by the second week of March.
However, many front-line healthcare workers have already been vaccinated under the national vaccination strategy. As per the estimate, 72,882 Front Line Healthcare Workers (FLHCWs) have been inoculated of coronavirus vaccine so far and now is the turn of common people that is simultaneously reaching towards them.

Altogether, 17.1 million coronavirus vaccine doses are expected to reach the country by the end of June this year. It will be helpful in running a successful vaccination drive. Moreover, aged people like 60 years of aged citizens are also being vaccinated, as the drive has started vaccinating senior citizens. One needs only to send SMS of their CNIC numbers on 1166 so that they can be registered for the covid-19 vaccination.
The general healthcare workers’ vaccination drive has also been started. They can register at www.covid.gov.pk/vaccine.
Moreover, Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister also shared the news that he had received the Sinopharm coronavirus vaccine’s first dose.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “I registered myself as a healthcare worker on http://Covid.gov.pk/vaccine and received a PIN & instructions. Got my 1st dose of vaccine (Sinopharm) today & feeling fine,” he tweeted.

He further added, “If you are a healthcare worker and over the age of 60, please send your CNIC to 1166 and you will be vaccinated using the AstraZeneca vaccine in early March, inshallah,”
