Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in contact with the United Arab Emirate (UAE) authorities on the issue of flight ban from Pakistan to UAE, Foreign Office Spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry said.
The Spokesman said that Pakistani Foreign Ministry was in constant contact with its UAE counterpart on the subject. “Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has highlighted this issue during his recent interactions with the foreign minister of the UAE.”
“Hopefully the UAE will remove its travel advisory about Pakistan soon.”
UAE imposes inbound passenger flight ban until July 15
General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in the UAE continues to maintain that inbound passenger traffic from many countries will remain suspended until further notice.
UAE citizens are prohibited from travelling to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Namibia, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Liberia, South Africa, and Nigeria, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA).

The UAE diplomatic missions in the aforementioned nations, emergency treatment situations, official delegations, and previously authorised business and technical delegates are all exempt from the ruling.
UAE to update travel protocols for inbound passenger flights
The ministry and the NCEMA issued a joint statement to mark the start of the peak travel season, which coincides with the world’s current exceptional circumstances due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The ministry and the NCEMA emphasised the importance of UAE citizens following all precautionary measures in general, particularly the Covid-19 countermeasures, and all other preventative protocols in place.
The two entities also emphasised the importance of UAE individuals adhering to self-isolation if they test positive for Covid-19 while travelling, as well as following all guidelines, restrictions, and health precautions imposed by their host nations. They also have to notify the UAE embassies in their host countries in case they get infected.
