It is possible to get infected with two Covid variants at the same time, experts are warning after seeing a double infection in a 90-year-old woman who became sick with the Alpha and Beta types of the virus.
In the European Congress’s annual conference on “Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, the case of the attack on the human body by two Covid variants Alpha and Beta was discussed in detail. The discussion was based upon the death of a 90-year old woman in Belgium who died of the attack of two variants of Covid simultaneously. The deceased woman was not vaccinated.
Dr. Anne Vankeerberghen, a researcher of OLV Hospital in Aalst, Belgium came ahead with the viewpoint, “Both these variants were circulating in Belgium at the time so it is likely that the lady was co-infected with different viruses from two different people. Unfortunately, we do not know how she became infected. She was the lady who lived alone but she got a lot of helpers coming in to care for her. Whether the co-infection of two variants of corona played a role in the fast deterioration of the patient is difficult to say.”

The 90-old woman was taken to hospital. Laboratory tests showed that she had Covid-19, caused by two different mutated versions of the coronavirus Alpha and Beta at the same time.

It was briefed in the conference that in Brazil, two strange cases of coronavirus were introduced, the symptoms and effects of which were extremely different. In both cases, the symptoms of two types of corona variants existed.
Earlier, in all the cases of Covid, there was found single variant. Coronavirus has gone into some important shapes and increasing its capacity to replicate or deceive some of our existing immunity from past infection or vaccination.
Today, serious cases are being monitored closely and these cases have been given the title of ‘variants of concern’. The scientist is of the firm opinion that the vaccine gives good protection against the virus.
