According to the district administration officials the Punjab government has intended to install water meters in four major districts all over the province to gather bills from WASA customers.

The first phase of the project includes the installation of more than 150,000 residential and commercial water meters.  NOC (no objection certificate) will be provided by the Punjab government, from all departments, for the installation of water meters to private parties.

Besides this, the provincial government will have the power to charge a price for the water meter, raise the charges according to water usage, and change prices.

From the Sources, it is revealed that the Punjab government expressed that it will gather the price of water meter from consumers while the private party will do the installation of a water meter and bear its cost.

After the completion of the concession period, all the facilities will be handed over to the Punjab government by the private party.

Furthermore, the Punjab government has primarily made it obvious to install water meters in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Multan.

Consequently, with the installation of water meters not only the collection of bills will be done from the customers easily but will also make it stress-free to evaluate water demand and supply in these major cities.
