The Board of Investment (BoI) pitched three infrastructure development projects including Sialkot-Kharian-Rawalpindi motorway at the ‘SDG Investment Fair’ for international investors.
Fareena Mazahar, the Secretary BoI presented three projects at the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Fair on Wednesday.
While presenting the infrastructure development projects, Secretary BoI said that these projects would pave way for Pakistan to become a success story in terms of progress on the SDGs and will serve as a window for the transformation of ideas, refinement of investment proposals, and better structuring of projects.

The projects are the first two phases of the Sialkot-Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway project and the manufacturing of medical equipment. The projects will connect Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Wazirabad famous for small and medium enterprises.
These will also be the source of reduction of migration to big cities as thousands of jobs would be available in the area.
The sponsors of these three projects are the National Highway Authority, The National University of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. During the month of April, this year, BoI had presented nine projects at the Investment Fair.
Moreover, the Secretary Board of Investment said that later, the Sialkot-Kharian Motorway project would be extended up to Rawalpindi which would be the source of reduction in the cost of business and increasing the commercial transport activities.
She added that the road project, worth $290 million has a length of 69 kilometers. The second phase of this project would be 115 kilometers in length. This will be the extension of the four-lane Sialkot-Kharian Motorway. The construction of the Kharian-Rawalpindi road would complete the Lahore-Sialkot-Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway network.
While talking about the third project, she said that it would focus on three SDGs which are concerned with health and well-being, industry, innovation, and infrastructure, and would eliminate the inequalities.
