Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team, set a new record by scoring 114 runs against Australia, leaving Prime Minister Imran Khan in the trail.
Pakistan won a thrilling match against Australia at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, when the green team, captained by Babar, chased down a 349-run target with six wickets in hand.
The nail-biting game between Pakistan and Australia saw the green caps put in a world-class performance, while Pakistan also set records of highest successful chase.
First, Pakistan defeated Australia by six wickets in the second One-Day International at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, setting a new record for successful chases in ODIs.

This is Pakistan’s most successful chase in one-day internationals. Pakistan had previously chased down a 327-run target against Bangladesh in Mirpur in 2014.
Meanwhile, skipper Babar Azam equaled former captain and Prime Minister Imran Khan’s record of scoring the most runs in an individual capacity against Australia.
PM Imran Khan scored 82 runs against Australia in Brisbane in 1990, the best total by any Pakistani against Australia till Babar shattered the record yesterday.
Babar Azam hit a century and bowled a brilliant 114 off 83 balls with 11 boundaries and a six.
Babar Azam registered many other records during the second ODI against Australia at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium Thursday.
Babar became the quickest batsman in the world to reach his 15th ODI hundred. Saeed Anwar leads the list with 20 tons while Mohammad Yousuf also had 15 ODI hundreds.
Babar’s century also helped him to surpass South Africa’s Hashim Amla in the list of taking the fewest innings to score 15 ODI hundreds.
Babar has also scored five centuries in ODI chases, the second most for Pakistan behind Anwar’s ten.
