A record increase in unemployment is observed due to coronavirus pandemic and having these figures in mind Google has announced 100,000 scholarships in three fields.
Google Scholarships
Google is providing an opportunity so that you can earn an online certificate in these three fields:
- Project Management
- User Experience (UX) design
- Data Analytics
These courses will be accessible through the Coursera e-learning platform. The course content and material will be gathered by Google’s own employees and Google employees will teach particular courses.
To avail the Google scholarships there is no requirement of having a college degree. The course will be completed within three to six months of duration and as per the completion of tasks by scholarship holders.
One of the main aspects of the Google scholarships for the areas mentioned above will be equivalent to a four year college degree for related roles at the company. At present, there is a high demand for Project Managers, Data Sciences, and UX Designers, and based on that Google chooses to offer these topics.
How to Apply
All the course content is solely developed by Google and Google will provide the online certificate which takes three to six months to complete. No requirement of related work experience or educational background in order to take these online courses.
These courses will be available at Coursera, which is an online platform for providing training improving the quality of life for seekers.
However, Coursera charges a monthly fee but Google will provide 100,000 need-based scholarships which will cover the cost of the course. To complete an online course just signup for Coursera.
Google continuously working to increase the skill level and therefore provided support through Google.org platform. Since 2017 Google.org provided over $200 million in donations to nonprofit organizations that promoted new economic opportunities.
