Instead of weekly meetings of district and tehsil response committees in Lahore and Rawalpindi, daily meetings will be held for dengue control programme in the whole Punjab. This decision has been done by the Provincial Cabinet Committee headed by Dr. Yasmin Rashid.
The Vice-Chancellor of Rawalpindi Medical College, Professor Dr Muhammad Umar convened a very important meeting on Monday in which plan to provide full fledge medical treatment including tests, beds, ICU and CCU facilities to the dengue affected patients finalized.

This meeting was attended by medical superintendents of all hospitals, Chief Executives of health authorities, and other consult officials. On the previous day too, a meeting in the office of vice-chancellor headed by himself took place in which CEO health authority and other consult officials were present. In the meeting, overview of the dengue patients in hospitals, their laboratory tests, availability of beds and so far dengue control programme were taken.
Professor Mr Umar said that we have to work as an active team so as to defeat dengue. From the entry of the dengue patients in hospitals up to their full treatment, we should do no negligence. Our first and last preference will remain the patients and for that purpose, all departments need to work with full responsibility.
Vice-chancellor further told the participants that the action plan regarding the dengue control programme will be finalized in the meeting which was then held today.
It is relevant to mention here that the representatives of the dengue control programme are doing their job effectively who are visiting houses to check the sanitation condition and if things are not satisfactory, the residents of the house\houses are warned against to waste the dirty water into plants etc. that may cause the production of dengue virus.
