DG ISPR General Babar Iftikhar revealed a shocking news that former Sindh governor and Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Muhammad Zubair held two meetings with the COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa recently regarding former convicted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz.
According to the chief of the military media wing, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt General Faiz Hameed was also part of the two meetings. Major General Babar Iftikhar the DG of ISPR further said that both meetings were requested by PML-N leader Muhammad Zubair.
While talking to ARY News journalist Arshad Malik, the DG ISPR said that the first meeting was held at the end of August while the second meeting was on September 7.
“In both meetings he talked about Nawaz Sharif sahib and Maryam Nawaz sahiba” he said.
“During these meetings, whatever was discussed, the army chief made it clear to him (Zubair) that whatever their legal issues are will be solved in Pakistan’s courts, while the political issues will be solved in the parliament,” the ISPR chief added.

While her visit at Islamabad High Court for a hearing of an appeal against her conviction in the Avenfield apartments case, the PML-N supreme leader daughter Maryam Nawaz responded on a question asked by the reporter regarding meeting with COAS and ISI chief with key opposition figures.
“I don’t know about a dinner, maybe it was not a dinner [but] I heard about the meeting. From what I understand it was called to discuss Gilgit-Baltistan which is a political issue, an issue of the people’s representatives, for them to solve and deliberate upon,” she said
“These decisions should be made in parliament, not in GHQ,” she added.

While answering to a question which was raised in the press talk that PML-N supremo was aware of the meeting or not in which she replied, “I don’t know whether he was aware of [the meeting] or if he learnt of it later. “But the political leadership should not be called nor should it go to discuss such issues. Whoever wishes to discuss these issues should come to the parliament.”
