Classes in all educational institutions under SOPs have resumed from today

After the onslaught of the coronavirus pandemic, all business activities were banned and all educational institutions were closed down in March. Six months down the line and Pakistan has emerged as a Covid-19 success story; different international organizations appreciated Pakistan’s successful strategy and WHO added Pakistan to the list of countries the world needs to learn from to tackle future pandemics. Normalcy has now returned with economic activities gaining pace and all activities are resumed. Educational institutions were resumed phase-wise from September 15 and from today all schools, colleges, madrassas and universities are reopened across the country.

In Sindh, full-fledged educational activities have been started. From the preprimary to the highest level, all educational institutions have started their activities. On the first day, parents also accompanied students wearing face masks. Having come to schools, some of the children seemed glad and excited while some were a little bit unhappy.

The ratio of attendance was 30% to 40%. All the resumed activities in educational institutions resumed administrations fully followed the SOPs with reference to Covid-19. All the students, teachers, and the staff were checked with the thermal guns, hands were sanitized, no entry was allowed without masks, social distancing was also considered and furniture, walls, and flours ware properly sanitized.

According to the teachers, all the related information regarding the precautionary measures is being provided to them whereas the parents are also being instructed to ask the children to follow the SOPs in this regard. The students who are suffering from temperature are sent back to homes.

In the whole of Sindh, the 9th and 10th classes and colleges/Universities had commenced on 15, September and the classes from 6th to 8th, which were to be started on 21 September but delayed for one week due to the risk of corona returning have been commenced from today, the 28th of September.

Saeed Ghani, the minister of education, Sindh has said that all educational institutions will have to follow the SOPs of Covid-19 otherwise strict action will be taken against them.
