Famous for “pathfinder” among mountaineers because of his astonishing skills, Joshi was one of the members of the team led by Mingma G.
The outstanding expedition started on April 22 and they reached Camp 4 on May 15.
It is worth mentioning that Joshi is the eighth Pakistani to successfully summit Mount Everest. Nazir Sabir, Hassan Sadpara, Mirza Ali Baig, Abdul Jabbar Bhatti, Samina Baig, Sirbaz Ali Khan, and Shehroze Kashif have also scaled the highest peak in the world.
Last year, in April, Joshi successfully summited 8,091 meters of Annapurna peak along with Sirbaz Khan. His first journey was to Manglik Sar at 6,050 meters. He caught everybody’s attention after he led a squad for the first-ever successful summit of Passu Cones in Gilgit.
According to mountaineers, Joshi is one of the most skilled and capable climbers in the country but he mostly focuses on unclimbed peaks and finding paths to the summit.
Sources said that Joshi is expected to return to the base camp on May 18.
“Fingers crossed for the green flag to be raised once again on the Highest Mountain in the World,” shared Abdul Joshi in a post on his official Facebook page on Sunday.
In another post, he added: “Let’s pray our pathfinder crosses this last leg of his very challenging climb in perfect time and safety. Praying for Success… Pakistan Zindabad.”
