Bacha Khan Medical College in Mardan celebrated its second convocation on Saturday, honoring its graduates and high-achievers with degrees and gold medals.
The event was graced by the presence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Haji Ghulam Ali as the chief guest. Other distinguished attendees included Dr. Riaz Anwar, Health Advisor to the Caretaker Provincial Cabinet, and Dr. Amjad Ali, Dean of the College, along with numerous esteemed faculty members.
A total of 450 graduates, who completed their medical studies at Bacha Khan Medical College between 2017 and 2021, received their hard-earned degrees from Governor Ghulam Ali. In addition to the degrees, 53 students were honored with gold medals for their extraordinary academic accomplishments.
Among the standout achievers was Dr. Nabila Bibi, a 2019 graduate hailing from the village of Chatrapalan in Mansehra. She received an impressive total of 20 gold medals for her commendable performance during her five-year MBBS program. An emotional Dr. Bibi expressed her gratitude towards her parents and family for their unending support and prayers.

Dr. Rukhshanda Afsar, another exceptional graduate, was bestowed with 19 gold medals during the convocation. A native of Abbottabad, Dr. Afsar is currently undergoing training in the Cardiology Department of Ayub Medical College. She attributed her success to her parents’ prayers and her own diligence and dedication.
During the convocation, Governor Ghulam Ali took a moment to congratulate the parents of the successful graduates and made a noteworthy announcement. He acknowledged Bacha Khan Dental College’s initiative to offer free education to disabled students, which underscored the institution’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in education.
