On Monday, Chief Minister Jam Kamal approved the Balochistan Education Sector Plan 2020-25 during a provincial cabinet meeting.
While chairing the meeting, the provincial chief executive emphasized the need for education, health and sports in the province.

To improve the literacy rate in Balochistan and ensure a bright future for the younger generation, the provincial government has given the approval to set up the second Balochistan Education Sector Plan for five years.
5 year plan was prepared in collaboration with Global Partnership for Education, a multi-stakeholder partnership and funding platform. The major aim behind the plan is to make the education system more strong in developing countries to increase the number of children in schools.
The provincial chief executive while chairing the meeting said, “Measures are being implemented under a comprehensive strategy for the development of all sectors,” he said.
“Along with laying a network of roads across the province, all available resources are being utilised to achieve socio-economic goals which will not only raise the living standards of the people of the province but also bring development and prosperity to Balochistan.”
The Chief Minister has also directed to install prefabricated buildings and toilets on a trial basis in collaboration with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority for shelter less schools.
According to the official sources, the cabinet meeting discussed a long agenda and approved signing of an MoU with Sehar Organisation for implementing Environmental Resources Management (ERM) project.
Under the project, Alternative Learning Programme (ALP) centres would be established in Chagai and Pishin districts of Balochistan where 10 to 14-years-old 500 Afghan refugees and children of host communities would be given admission.
Moreover, the meeting also approved the Balochistan Local Councils (Model) Sub-Rules for Registration of Births and Deaths 2020. The approval of the Balochistan Holy Quran (Printing, Recording) Amendment Bill 2020 regarding proper disposal and preservation of the pages of the Holy Quran was given too.
