The Microsoft founder and philanthropist Bill Gates was recently seen admiring Pakistan’s efforts in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Monday, the founder of Microsoft admired Pakistan for defeating coronavirus in an efficient way and for becoming one of the countries for tackling the virus effectively.
Bill Gates praised the efforts of Pakistan in an interview with Fareed Zakaria on CNN where he compared the situation of Pakistan with Europe and acknowledged the efforts put in to flatten the COVID-19 curve.
While he contrasted and said that the virus spread in India is still on the rise and endorsed the policies of Pakistan for battling the virus. He also said that the coronavirus condition in India is the same as South America’s.
It would not be out of place to mention here Bill Gates praise for Pakistan’s efforts comes after Covid-19 cases have witnessed a massive decline in Pakistan in recent days and the government has lifted almost all restrictions starting today. All restaurants, hotels, gyms, theatres, cinemas, beauty parlors, and other businesses have reopened across the country. All flight services are also resumed and business hours and weekly holidays have been reverted back to pre-COVID-19 practice.
Moreover, all activities of Pakistan has been resumed, all businesses, offices, government or private sectors have been opened. Marriage halls will reopen from the 15th of September as well as educational institutions. The active coronavirus cases in the country stand at 17,799, while 6,097 people have died from the disease so far.
However, apart from Bill Gates acknowledgment, an American magazine Wall Street Journal also published an article a few days before where they praised Pakistan’s efforts for being one of the countries in defeating the Covid-19. Recently in another magazine, the Philippines was advised to look at Pakistan’s strategies to overcome the coronavirus.
