The mayor said that the local administration will start the development work on a shuttle service soon. He added that the concerned departments are making their level best to operate more BRT buses on different feeder routes after Hayatabad.

During the meeting, the CEO of TransPeshawar described the mayor regarding BRT’s routes, purchase of more buses, manpower, provision of transportation facilities, security system, maintenance of vehicles, cleanliness, and allocation of separate seats for women and transgender persons on the buses.

The mayor praised the company for its efforts to allot special seats for women and transgender persons and called for more value addition for this category of travelers.

Last month, during the tenure of the PTI government, the KP government had accepted six more feeder routes for BRT to ease a maximum number of people and give them the best traveling facilities in the provincial capital.

Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had given approval to new feeder routes that comprise Nasirbagh Road including RMT, Hayatabad Phase 1 extension, Chamkani – Jhagra – Pabbi, Khyber Road, Warsak Road, and Charsadda Road.

He claimed that BRT has become the nucleus of Peshawar’s transport system. The minister stated: “The more the BRT expands, the more cost-effective it will get while reducing Peshawar’s carbon emissions, and providing clean, high-quality transport to over 900,000 unique users in Peshawar”.

In this regard, BRT Peshawar will buy 86 advanced buses from China to initiate more feeder routes like the one from Hayatabad to give facilitation to its citizens.
