Civil works of the under-progress 1,320 MW Shanghai Electric Thar Coal Block-1 Power Generation Company (PVT) Ltd. project are planned to attain its COD within this year.
As per the media persons, as soon as the project is accomplished, the project’s energy production will be sufficient to power four million households in Pakistan. 32-year-old Sufyan Ansar Warraich is one of those who made these wonders possible. He was presented as one of the remarkable Pakistani Staff of CPEC Projects in 2021 because of his outstanding performance at work.
‘Bridge the gap and get things done’ – this is the history of CPEC’s Pioneer 32-year-old Sufyan Ansar Warraich who serves as the Administrative Commissioner in Shanghai Electric Thar Coal Block-1 Power Generation Company (PVT) Ltd. He works along with his colleagues to take care of about 180 employees, like their office, their living, their food, their entry, and their exit.

Along with his teammates, Warraich dedicates himself to the building of Thar Coal Block-1 Power Plant, a combined coal mine and coal-powered energy production project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) situated in Islamkot, Tharparkar District, Sindh, Pakistan.
It is to be highlighted that the project cannot be built without outstanding management and hardworking front-line Chinese and Pakistani staff; however, it also requires bridges like Warraich to narrow down the gap.
Joining the company in December 2020, Warraich mostly cares about the public relations, administration, and social responsibility work of the site. The life of this hardworking employee is filled with language differences, cultural differences, and arrangement differences, but he likes to take on such challenges.
According to Liu Chaoqun who is the Schedule Manager of the company, Warraich once studied at Harbin Engineering University, located in Harbin, the Ice City of China. This time period resulted to gain experience and Warraich got to know Chinese culture well which helped him take good care of both Pakistani and Chinese employees.
“You can always count on Sufyan!” Liu Chaoqun stated.
