Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has inaugurated Gulab Devi Underpass worth Rs 659.2 million and declared to term it after Abdul Sattar Edhi.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, CM also publicized to make an elevated expressway project having a cost of Rs 50 billion and added that Rs 6.50 billion would be expended to build multilevel entry and exit points at Shahdara Morr to tackle traffic congestion there.
The ceremony was also joined by Federal Minister, PTI Punjab President Shafqat Mahmood, and provincial ministers Mian Aslam Iqbal, Murad Raas, Asad Khokhar, and Ejaz Alam, PTI leaders, parliamentarians, Punjab government’s representative Hasaan Khawar and other senior officers.

CM said that the three-lane full height Abdul Sattar Edhi Underpass would comfort the movement of more than 132,000 automobiles and the government sued that by fair tendering 60 million rupees was hoarded during its creation.
“The facility would also benefit the patients of Gulab Devi, Children, Social Security and General Hospitals while accommodating the thousands of citizens in their daily movement,” he said while talking to the media.
Moreover, the CM conveyed that the Gulberg-Jail Road flyover has also been termed after poet Munir Niazi. The Abdul Sattar Edhi Underpass has been accomplished two months prior to the deadline due to which the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General and its governing body members deserve tributes.
The ceremony was conducted in the underpass with the intention to save public money.
“Meanwhile, more than Rs 9.16 billion rupees were being spent to complete three major projects in the provincial metropolis. An additional lane was being built at Lahore Bridge near Children Hospital while the work on Data Ganj Bakhsh flyover is in progress at a cost of Rs 4.90 billion and 2.54 billion would be spent on Shahkam Chowk Flyover project.”
“Alongside, the expansion of Sagian Road will be completed with Rs 3.40 billion, and the Main Boulevard Gulberg to Walton Road Defence Chowk will be made a signal-free corridor with Rs 3 billion. An underpass and flyover at Karim Block in Iqbal Town will be built at a cost of Rs 2.90 billion,” CM told media.
