Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Dr Sania Nishtar on Tuesday announced online portal of Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Program through which low-income families can now apply for a ration discount.
Low income families can apply online to get Rs 1,000 ration discount a month, constituting a 30% subsidy on flour, pulses, ghee, and cooking oil per unit purchase, to 20 million families, Dr Sania said.
She informed reporters that those families who have less than 50,000 per month income and those government employees who have less than Rs 31,500 salary per month were eligible to apply for registration.
She said that only the applicants will be eligible to collect the rations on discount in case of eligibility. They will be notified about their eligibility for availing the facility via an SMS from 8171 within four weeks of registration, she added.
Over 1 million registered on Ehsaas Rashan Riayat programme web portal
As many as 40 million people have submitted their data in the https://ehsaasrashan.pass.gov.pk portal since the start of the registration process and one million people have registered successfully for Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Programme so far.
Relief will be provided to 20 million families under this initiative as per directives of the Prime Minister Imran Khan through providing subsidy on flour, pulses and cooking oil or ghee. The subsidy of Rs 22 will be given on flour, Rs 105 on ghee and Rs 55 on pulses.
Morover, a meeting regarding the development of the digitalization and automation programme of the Utility Stores Corporation was chaired over by Mr Bakhtyar. He said under the Digital Pakistan Initiative, the execution of the digitization process would be made possible.
The Utility Stores Corporation’s managing director Syed Taha Aziz, while briefing the minister on digitisation, said that procedure of digitization of human resource records and requirements of providing targeted grant would be finalized by the end of the month.
