‘FM Portal’ for overseas Pakistanis living in 187 countries has been launched by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi as a podium providing them fast clarifications to their problems.
Addressing the launching ceremony of the initiative under Vision FO at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad, he advised representatives to attach with the Pakistani dispersion in the countries of their task and address their problems punctually.
The event was attended by Special Secretary Raza Bashir Tarar, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mehmood, and senior officials of MoFA and the Ministry of Information Technology.

He said that all overseas missions of Pakistan are linked online and active on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Moreover, FM portal has been launched in harmony with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision and the Foreign Minister’s ‘Digital Diplomacy Agenda’ and ‘Public Diplomacy Initiative’.
Further providing the information he told that the mobile application has been advanced by the National Information Technology Board with the help of the Prime Minister’s Performance Delivery Unit.
It has the aim to deliver facilities in the standard process for the launch of QR codes, document authentication, and digital system to decrease the probabilities of forging and confirmation of documents through courier services within Pakistan.
It will also aid in online confirmation of power of attorney for foreign Pakistanis through assignments.
Furthermore, the initiative encompasses the setting up of Nadra counters, scheduled at 16 assignments abroad for issuance of sequence certificates and administrative letters to foreign Pakistanis.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Office is also referring to the police departments of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu, and Kashmir to digitize the issuance of police character certificates.
Up to now, 14 missions have been agreed to access digital records of ‘registration’ and ‘mutation’ documents of the Punjab Land Record System.
Last year the foreign minister had launched the “FM Direct App” under the FM’s digital diplomacy agenda.
