The good news for Karachi commuters- Peoples Bus Service during its first stage will run from Gulshan-e-Hadeed to Tower.
Initially, the long route was distributed into two, compelling the commuters of Gulshan-e-Hadeed to first travel to Malir Cantt. From Malir Cantt, they had to board a new bus for Tower.
To resolve the issue, Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon presided over a meeting on Wednesday during which it was decided that the Peoples Bus Service will directly run from Gulshan-e-Hadid to Tower from Monday via Shahra-e-Faisal.
The route has been altered on the request of the residents of Gulshan-e-Hadid, the minister said.
Sharjeel Memon further said that the number of buses will also be increased to 30 on the Khokhrapar-Tower route from the end of September.

He stated that the demand of the bus service is on the rise. “We have to further improve the service with overloading to be discouraged as there are many complaints being received in this regard,” he maintained.
Moreover, the transport minister issued directives to the Sindh Mass Transit Authority to form a monitoring team. The team will be directed to report on various issues, including the timely departure of buses and overloading, he added.
The meeting also assessed the operations of the Peoples Bus Service in Larkana. The minister ordered the MD Mass Transit Authority to communicate with the Larkana district administration on a daily basis to resolve the issues faced by the routes.
In July this year, the Sindh government added new routes to the Peoples Bus Service in Karachi that made the number of operational routes to four.
It was also reported that as per the newly announced route by the Sindh Information Department and the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) the air-conditioned bus service will ferry passengers between Numaish and Sea View via Three Swords (Teen Talwar).
