The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced that degrees can now be attested online through its new e-services portal.
According to the notification issued by HEC, “The official online degree attestation process has begun. All students seeking degree attestation should apply through the website,” The HEC announced on Friday that all students seeking degree attestation can apply for it via the commission’s official website through a new e-services portal: http://eservices.hec.gov.pk/.
The notification on the website reads, “In order to prevent spread of COVID-19, HEC has currently suspended Urgent Attestation under walk-in mode at Islamabad and Regional Centres, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta w.e.f. 18th November 2020. Therefore, all applicants are advised not to visit any HEC office for attestation. However, applicants may apply for degree attestation through courier mode (TCS).
Before applying for the online registration, the applicant first has to make an online account if they do not already have one. The HEC further said that “All students can visit the e-service website and upload the relevant documents to get their degrees attested”.
“The attestation process would no longer function on the link http:/eportal.hec.gov.pk. However, old applicants would be able to use their previously HEC verified username and password to log-in to the new online ‘e-services’ portal”.

The application will be initially examined online by the HEC and if the application is found complete, then applicants are informed via SMS and email. If any deficiency is found in the application, then the applicant will be asked via SMS and email to resubmit the case after meeting deficiencies. A task is assigned to an applicant in the “Task Assigned to me” section at the eservices account.
After successful scrutiny, the applicant will be informed via SMS & email about the schedule of his visit as per availability of time slot, if applied through walk-in mode.
On a visit to the HEC, the applicant will take a token from the token machine and submit it at designated windows. After checking the original documents, the applicant will deposit the fee submit the handover case to the HEC staff at the designated window. After the due necessary procedure, documents will be returned on the same day.
