The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has retracted the equivalence of the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree issued to Muhammad Khalid Khurshid on September 23, 2022. This decisive action followed an official statement from the University of London declaring that the degree documents in question, including the certificate, Letter of Certification, and transcript, were not authorized by the university.
The HEC undertook a rigorous re-verification process upon receiving information suggesting the LLB degree submitted by Muhammad Khalid Khurshid Khan was fraudulent. In compliance with existing protocols, the HEC sought confirmation from the University of London regarding the authenticity of the degree, transcript, and the sealed envelope enclosing the verification letter supplied by the applicant.
In response, the University of London unequivocally stated that the envelope and its contents, encompassing the degree certificate, Letter of Certification, and transcript, were not issued by them.

The decision to withdraw the equivalence is underpinned by clause #7 of the Affidavit submitted by the applicant to the HEC. The clause explicitly states that if it emerges at any point that any academic documents – such as degrees or transcripts – are fake, bogus, or not in alignment with HEC’s academic regulations, the HEC retains the right to cancel the equivalence letter issued immediately.
Consequently, the equivalence assigned to Muhammad Khalid Khurshid Khan’s purported University of London LLB degree has been officially annulled by the HEC as of May 12, 2023.
