After the series of price reduction by Honda, Toyota, MG and Kia, Hyundai Nishat also announced price reduction on its SUV Tucson and sedan Elantra. With immediate effect, these are the new prices for Hyundai’s C-Segment vehicle:
Vehicles | Old Price | Price Reduction | New Price |
Tucson GLS Sport | 5,099,000 | 120,000 | 4,979,000 |
Tucson Ultimate | 5,599,000 | 130,000 | 5,469,000 |
Elantra GLS | 4,049,000 | 150,000 | 3,899,000 |
When Hyundai Nishat unveiled the Tucson SUV in Pakistan in mid-2020, it promptly raised its rates in response to a “overwhelming response” from the people. The public, understandably, was not thrilled with Hyundai’s reaction.
Hyundai Nishat, like a few other manufacturers in Pakistan, looks to benefit greatly from the new tax and duty concessions granted in the new auto policy for electric vehicles (EV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV).
While the aforementioned price reductions aren’t huge by any means, they constitute a welcome improvement in Pakistan’s car price trajectory. These price reductions are, hopefully, a little step in the right direction for the auto industry.
The automaker already has a number of electric and hybrid vehicles in its lineup that may be a welcome addition to the Pakistani automotive market, as they would benefit consumers, the environment, and the automaker.
