Fakhruddin Syed, the senior journalist now working for the TV channel 92 News passed away due to COVID-19 in Peshawar.
Besides the death of 3 journalists, 156 others got infected with the virus since the outbreak of coronavirus.
On Thursday, the senior journalist was presumed dead of coronavirus early in the morning in Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar. According to a report, Fakhruddin Syed was in isolation since he tested positive for the virus, 5 days before his death, he was shifted to hospital after his condition got worse. His condition deteriorated on Wednesday night when he was immediately shifted to a ventilator.
He was being treated with plasma therapy that ought to be beneficial for him in improving his condition.
He had a great contribution to journalism and he worked with many highly reputed media organizations like Roznama Pakistan, DawanNewsTV, Roznama Jihad, Aaj News, etc.
Moreover, 3 media persons have died of novel coronavirus until now. One of the reporters reported that photojournalists and media journalists suffered a lot in coronavirus pandemic. Another senior journalist Zafar Rasheed Bhatti passed away from COVID-19.
The coronavirus pandemic has effected many other media workers and journalists. On Saturday, Senior Reporter of GNN, a private news channel, Abdul Hameed Soomro, tested coronavirus positive again after staying 14 days in isolation.
The GNN Senior Reporter had previously gone into self-isolation and again after tested positive was to isolation at a hospital.
The novel coronavirus has also claimed the lives of two Radio Pakistan employees, the state-run radio confirmed Thursday.
“It is announced with profound grief and sorrow that two employees of Radio Pakistan succumbed to coronavirus today,” said a statement on Radio Pakistan’s website.
The employees were identified as Urdu newscaster Huma Zafar and Senior Broadcast Engineer Muhammad Ashfaq.
