They married in 2005 and welcomed their first kid in 2011.
Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan were widely regarded as one of Bollywood’s most loving couples.
Even before they married, the two had worked together on various film projects and had a solid friendship.

There were no reports of any disagreements or concerns between the two before the divorce was formalised, although the two had been seen together in a loving way.
According to Asian News International (ANI), Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao released a joint statement confirming the divorce.
According to the report, the couple did not disclose a reason for their divorce, but they did state that they had split and that they would raise their only son Azad Khan together.
The couple confirmed their divorce in a brief statement to the public on July 3, according to the IANS news agency.
Their divorce became a top trend on Twitter once the news broke, and their followers were as surprised as they were.
Aamir Khan married actress Reena Dutta in 1986, at the start of his career, but their first marriage ended in divorce 16 years later in 2002.
Aamir Khan has two children from his first marriage: Ira Khan and Junaid Khan, both of whom will appear in films shortly.
Aamir Khan’s relationship with Kiran Rao was confirmed only after his first marriage dissolved, and the couple married in 2005.
Kiran Rao produced several of her husband Aamir Khan’s films, and the two had a great working relationship with no rumours of feuds or strained relationships.
