Pakistan offers huge opportunities to Chinese investors in the textile sector

Pakistan has offered the Chinese investors gigantic opportunities to mature a deeper understanding of the investment opportunities in the textile sector, said Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar.

“Pakistan wishes to have win-win cooperation with the Chinese investors”, Asad Umar said in a meeting with the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles and leading Chinese textile companies and investors.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on CPEC Affairs Khalid Mansoor, and other textile stockholders in Pakistan partook in the occasion planned by the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority.

The embassy of China in Islamabad and Pakistan’s Embassy in Beijing also joined the session.

Asad Umar said that the occasion had been planned to underscore to the Chinese investors, the relative advantage of Pakistan in the textile sector.

Furthermore, Khalid Mansoor informed the members of the events being taken by the government to ease the investors.

He said that the authorized agenda was being further enhanced to make it calmer for investors to start and run their operations.

The industrial cooperation segment of CPEC, he said, grasps great potential and significant work was ongoing to make full use of it.

Besides this, a comprehensive presentation on the textile sector of Pakistan was exhibited to Chinese investors and entrepreneurs in which several aspects of comparative rewards of Pakistan were explained in detail.

The demonstration comprised of comparative data of the region for labor, transportation, utilities, and other expenses for the investors. It has also been underlined the promising market access situation for the country’s products in foreign markets.

Moreover, the incentives and facilities accessible to investors in CPEC SEZs were also discussed in detail.

The Chairman of the Chinese Chamber, prominently respected the online exchange and stated that it was very enlightening for the members. He said that visits of the investors would be settled as soon as the travel restrictions are phased out.

Representatives of various large Chinese textile companies joined in the session.
