Pakistan ranks among world’s most sought-after tourist destination

Pakistan has been ranked as the most sought-after tourist destination over the past few years.  

On Wednesday, the report revealed that the country is the most sought-after tourist destination. It has topped many international travels like Forbes’ “The 10 coolest places to go in 2019” and Conde Nast’s “best holiday destination in 2020,” 

The media further reported that people and the government of the country seem hopeful that its attraction and development will bring investment in tourism-affiliated businesses and will help in generating jobs in the country.  

Moreover, the PM’s administration has already announced its plans to promote and develop the tourism sector, it also has plans to ease the restrictions for foreign travelers.

Besides, another foreign publication. Babar Javaid, communications manager of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) while talking to DW said, “Because of COVID, we couldn’t implement the government’s tourism strategy over the past year,” 

Within few recent years, travel bloggers have visited Pakistan, drawn by Pakistan’s tall peaks, rich heritage, and lush valleys. Their produced content on social media played a big role in arising the passion of people who live abroad to visit Pakistan’s exquisite beauty.  

Furthermore, in 2020, the Wild Frontier said that the country had been named by Forbes as the best under the radar places to visit in 2020.  

Wild Frontier founder Jonny Bealby said on January 2020, “Pakistan is perhaps the ultimate adventure travel destination,”

He also said, “It offers ancient Indus civilizations stretching back 4,000 years, and exciting cities like Lahore with its forts, mosques, and palaces. But most of all, it offers incredible scenery, particularly in the north where the three greatest mountain ranges collide.” 

“Pakistan is great for trekking, mountain biking, rafting, or just cultural tourism. The infrastructure has also improved, with resurfaced roads and new tunnels cutting down travel time, new luxury hotels are opening up in the region.”
