A big honor for Pakistan as the artists from the country will be exhibiting the world’s largest ‘Holy Quran’ at Dubai Expo 2020 organized for October this year.
According to news reports, this project of Holy Quran is cast on canvas which has aluminum and gold plated script. The news further added that such a big sized scripture would be presented first time in the history of Islam.
Usually, the Holy Quran has been carved on either paper, cloth, or leather, so far, however Shahid Rassam, a Pakistani and former UAE expat is taking this a step further. He is being assisted by Irfan Mustafa, a Dubai-based Pakistani businessman.

Earlier, Rassam etched 99 names of Allah with aluminum and gold-plated letters.
“Excluding the frame, the Holy Quran is 8.5-foot tall and 6.5-foot wide. It will have 150 words on one page, and the total number of pages is 550,” said an artist connected with the project being developed in Karachi.
Moreover, Rassam who attained several international awards initiated the project five years ago and will be showcasing his Holy Quran project at the six-month-long Dubai expo.
Presently, the largest printed Quran has a measurement of 6.74 feet height and 4.11 feet wide, and 6.69 inches thick. The copy comprises 632 pages and weighs a whopping 552.74 kg, according to the Guinness World Records.
Dubai Expo is the biggest event ever organized in the Arab world. It welcomes 190 countries millions of visitors from across the globe. These visitors experience whole-hearted Emirati hospitality at its finest, as well as the UAE’s values of inclusion, tolerance, and cooperation.
It was first scheduled last year from 20 October to 10 April 2021. But due to Covid Pandemic in The United Arab Emirates, the new dates are 1 October 2021 – 31 March 2022.
