A petition has been submitted to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for the registration of a criminal case against retired Gen Bajwa, former army chief, ex-director general Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Faiz Hameed, and two journalists. The petitioner, Atif Ali, has alleged that certain revelations made by the ex-army chief during an interview were conducted recklessly and violated the Official Secrets Act, inciting mutiny and disharmony.
The petitioner has requested the court to direct the director general of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to register a First Information Report (FIR) against Gen Bajwa, Gen Faiz, and the two journalists, Javed Chaudhry and Shahid Maitla. The petition also seeks directions from the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) to impose a ban on the two journalists.

However, the registrar office of the IHC has raised objections to the petition, stating that the petitioner should first approach the appropriate forum. The revelations made during the interview have generated controversy, and the petition seeks accountability for those responsible for their publication.
