Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Tuesday restarted its Umrah flights from different parts of the country to Medina and Jeddah.
The new Umrah policy 2020 is disclosed by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), under which two-way economy class tickets between Karachi and Medina will cost Rs 91,000 while from other cities the fare will be Rs 96,000.
The national carrier is resuming its Umrah flight operation from different parts of the country to Jeddah and Medina Munawwara after the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia publicized the reopening of the Umrah pilgrimage that was partially opened by Saudi authorities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the new disclosed policy, the economy class return ticket price which includes all the service and tax charges from Karachi will be Rs. 91,000, meanwhile, from other cities the cost would be Rs. 96,000. The traveler will be able to carry 36 kg of baggage, whereas the baggage allowance for infants will be 10 kg.
Abdullah Khan, the Pakistan International Airlines spokesperson stated that the special service will last till December 31, and the national flag carrier already started group booking for Umrah passengers with a minimum limit of 10 travelers for every single group.
Abdullah Khan also mentioned that the tickets are available on the PIA network, and furthermore, if someone is to avail the executive economy class services then the baggage allowance will be enhanced to 40 kg and divided into 2 bags.
While returning from Umrah, every pilgrim will be allowed to bring 5 liters of Aab-e-Zamzam. The Umrah pilgrims might also be allowed to change their booking facility free of charge before seven days of the departure date.
