Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has unveiled a modernized Airbus A320 simulator for pilot training, refresher courses, and air safety.
The new Airbus A320 simulator, which is the first of its kind in the region, was inaugurated by PIA CEO Arshad Malik.
According to Arshad Malik, the simulator facility is being built for pilot training, with Airbus A-320, Boeing 777, and jumbo jet simulators all under one roof. Other airlines are also contacting the national airline for pilot training, according to PIA CEO.

According to Malik, the installation of simulators generally takes many years, but the PIA team accomplished their work in only five months.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the country’s airline, purchased the first Airbus A320 simulator in December 2021.
L3Harris Technologies provided the state-of-the-art Reality 7E Evolution Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulator (FFS), which has now been placed at the PIA Training Centre (PTC) in Karachi.
Pakistan is the first country in the region to have an A320 simulator for pilot training and air safety. It is important to note that Pakistan has 670 Airbus A320 pilots.
Prior to the purchase of advanced simulators, pilots were required to travel internationally for refresher courses with a civil aviation inspector.
The installation of the Airbus simulator will put a stop to the national flag carrier’s massive investment in pilot training. It was discovered that pilot training in foreign countries was carried at a cost of about $300 per hour, excluding travel and accommodation expenses.
Meanwhile, the airport hotel will be connected to the simulator complex.
