Well-known multimedia artist and art teacher, Pir Hamid Ali Kheshgi has garnered widespread recognition when an Italy-based organization nominated his art piece for an international group exhibition in a watercolor painting contest.
Talking to the media, the artist stated that an Italy -based art organization selected one of his art pieces for the third time for a group exhibition where paintings of eminent artists from across the world were also exhibited.
“The art organization had selected my art piece in 2017 and then in 2019 and recently picked out another for the third time in watercolor painting contest. For me, it is great global recognition, and I believe that in this way our cultural diversity will reach out to world art fans,” he remarked.

The painting that earned a prestigious place in the world group exhibition was actually an art piece presenting a hut located in the middle of green village fields whereas earlier artworks too showed the rural landscape of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“The first time, I had sent my painting showing a typical scene of a rural town with two bicycles parked in front of a village shop, and my second painting was again a village Ghanai (an improvised Ghur-making place) selected for the biannual art exhibition event in 2017 and 2019, respectively. I have in a way done a hat-trick,” Pir Hamid Ali Kheshgi commented proudly.
Moreover, the artist said he wanted to demonstrate the beauty of local culture to the world via paintings highlighting typical village life along with the sights and sounds of lush green fields, high mountaintops, and flowing water rills.
Regarding his future plans, he said, “I want to launch an art gallery based on the concept of the art of Italy, which in fact is the origin of visual art.”
Mr. Kheshgi currently imparts the precious knowledge at Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, and is the beneficiary of over a dozen awards and certificates from national and international art organizations.
