Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched Sehat Sahulat card for the people of Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions and said that the poor would easily be able to get medical facility with the health cards.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan while addressing the launching ceremony of Sehat Sahulat card said that facility of health cards to every citizen would ensure complete and free health coverage. With the extension of health card facility to every family in Punjab, the poor would no longer have to worry about medical treatment. He added, it was unimaginable during past governments in the country.
Prime Minister further said that from now, every family in the two divisions could now easily avail medical treatment worth Rs 720,000 at all public and private hospitals in the province.
He reiterated that Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid had stated that an additional Rs 300,000 could be distributed to poor families if needed.

The premier also said that the universal health coverage system would become a safety net and health concerns of the poor will be ended and highlighted the necessity to encourage the private sector to fully take part in health initiatives.
Moreover, PM announced that government lands could be offered to the private sector at reasonable and affordable rates in order to construct hospitals and other health facilities, especially in distant areas.
The PM further directed the Punjab chief minister to pay special attention to the aloof areas of the province that lagged in terms of development. He noted that people drifted from rural to urban areas has a lack of job opportunities and basic facilities, increasing population of cities, has led to a multitude of serious civic issues such as sewerage and scarcity of drinking water.
“Development must be all-inclusive so that no area is left behind,” he stressed.
