Pakistan’s first Imported Sugar Tracking System intends to help the provincial government and sugar sector stakeholders by maintaining smooth work flows.
From port dispatches to sales, the technology serves to improve transparency and ease of monitoring. The Imported Tracking System is the first digital system of its kind in Punjab, and it is fully operational.

District governments can now follow the dispatches and transits of received and sold sugar across Punjab using the system dashboard available to Deputy Commissioners, with the option of recording payments against those consignments.
This approach is also useful for keeping track on sugar prices and facilitating rapid interventions in this sector. Dispatch, receipt, transit, payment, and vessel information are all provided through the system.
Through the PITB-facilitated Imported Sugar Tracking System, the Punjab Food Department is trying to create a more transparent and resilient supply chain. By assuring end-to-end tracking of sugar from the port to the distributors to sales in districts, this project will benefit not only the government but also the relevant parties.
