The Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) on Wednesday announced the successful bidder for the supply and installation of a floating jetty at Gwadar Port.
According to the details, GPA has invited companies and contractors who have sufficient experience in the relevant field and are suitably competent in the supply, installation, and commissioning of the floating jetty at Gwadar Mini Port in line with the prescribed tender documents.
The qualified tenderers put forward their technical and financial proposals separately in sealed envelopes with all the required details and documentary evidence on July 25, 2022.
In response to the proposals, three bidders have been chosen; however, Karachi-based RAB Construction Company has been described as the lowest evaluated bidder with Rs 150 million.
A floating jetty is made of one or more floats or pontoons. Regardless of the level of water, they are used to link boats.
Talking to the media men, GPA official said that the method of procurement shall be by Single Stage Two Envelope procedure under Rule 36(b) of the Public Procurement Rules-2004, adding that the criteria for the bid assessment were ‘financially, the lowest evaluated bidder.

Moreover, Chinese Companies in Gwadar have donated Rs 5.884 million in the second round of fundraising at the China Business Center last week.
In the first round of the fundraising campaign, a huge amount of Rs 15 million was collected and donated by Chinese companies working in Gwadar.
COPHC made a donation of Rs. 2.36 million. Other entities who donated included the New Gwadar International Airport project Rs 100,000, China Harbour Engineering Company Rs 700,000, Gwadar Hua fa Expo Center Rs 200,000, China-Pakistan Friendship Hospital Rs. 600,000, CCCC-FHDI Engineering Company Rs. 200,000, CCCC-PICL Rs 110,000, Linyi Trade City Rs. 150,000, HK Sun Rs 100,000, Yu Lin Holdings Rs. 100,000, Hang Geng Trade Company Rs. 100,000, Professor Wang Sen from South Central University of Forestry and Technology Rs. 100,000,
