Pakistani University National Textile University (NTU) and a Chinese University, Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES) have jointly signed an agreement where they will promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation in teaching, long-term and short-term student exchange programmes, scientific research, academic conferences, seminars, symposiums, double major programmes and mutual recognition agreement (MRA) for GPA, in order to build a demonstration platform for textile engineering technology exchange between both universities.
According to the Shanghai University of Engineering Science, coronavirus effected face to face cooperation between the universities of China and Pakistan. But, both country’s universities did not spare any effort to promote bilateral exchange and cooperation in textile engineering online.
Moreover, the Shanghai University of Engineering Science told that schools of fashion will launch a conference “AATCC 2020 Sustainability Innovation and Fashion Technology International Conference” in October. It would be an online conference where NTU professors will participate.
“China and Pakistan are iron-clad brothers that enjoy profound friendship and mutual cooperation,” SUES to China Economic Net (CEN) further said that their educational exchange and cooperation with NTU can provide human resources and technical resources for the economic and trade cooperation in fields of textile and apparel under the framework of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

However, SUES said that the School of Fashion Engineering is a multidisciplinary developing school that is mainly based on fashion and textile engineering technologies. It has built the “Quadra-Cooperative Mode” of “Cooperative Education, Cooperative School-Running, Cooperative Innovation, and Cooperative Employment” with industries.

School of Fashion Engineering (SFE) is fortified with two ministerial and provincial research bases and a National Engineering Practical Education Centre co-founded with the enterprise in China.
