A suicide bomb blast in Baleli area of Quetta, killed three people, including a women, child and a policeman while more than a dozen of people were injured in the suicide attack blast.
According to the reports, patrol was guarding a polio vaccination team at the time of the incident.
“The bomb blast that targeted police patrol wounded more than 30 people, including 15 policemen”, another police official, Abdul Haq said. “Out of them a policeman, a women and a child died”, he further stated.
It was declared as a suicide attack as per the initial reports from security officials. Deputy Inspector General of Police Quetta Azfar Maisar confirmed that policemen were among the casualties and almost two dozen were injured.
Initial investigation reports revealed that the suicide bomber rammed his explosive laden vehicle into police truck while they were coming from Baleli to Quetta city. The area was cordoned off and investigations are underway while the casualties were shifted to civil hospital Quetta.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Shareef condemned the incident and instructed the officials to provide the affected with the best possible medical aid. He also paid tribute to martyred police officials.

Prime Minister also said that militants will never succeed in their efforts to stop anti polio campaign.
Chief Minister of Baluchistan, Abdul Qudus Bizenjo called it as “cowardly act of terrorism” and expressed his grief over the loss.
The incident is of prime concern as Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan called off the ceasefire on Monday with the federal government, since TTP and the government had agreed to truce earlier this year when Afghanistan’s new Taliban rulers took over the government in Afghanistan.
In a statement to AFP, TTP claimed the responsibility for the attack an said it would soon share the details.
