Unexpected Weather Shift Prompts Early Summer Break in KP’s Middle and Higher Secondary Schools

Summer Break Announced for Sindh's Schools and Colleges: A Two-Month Recess Beginning June 1

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has announced an unexpected early start to the summer break for middle, high, and higher secondary schools located in the province’s summer zone, citing abrupt weather changes as the reason behind the decision.

Reports have confirmed that the vacation period commenced on June 12 and will conclude on August 31. Consequently, the academic operations in these schools are set to resume on September 1.

Previously, the provincial government had issued a notification last month detailing the planned summer break for middle, high, and higher secondary schools in the summer zone. The original schedule had the holidays starting from June 15 and lasting till August 31.

Meanwhile, primary schools located within the summer zone have been on summer break since June 1, with plans to remain closed until August 31.

Contrastingly, institutions falling under the winter zone category, including primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools, will observe their summer vacation from July 1 to July 31. This distinction in schedules stems from the differing weather patterns in the two zones.
