The University of Sargodha (UOS) has become the first national institute to offer a PhD program on Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH). This was stated by Prime Minister Imran Khan in his recent interview with a private media channel.
The University has declared that it is offering a Ph.D. program on Seerat-un-Nabi (S.A.W). The University of Sargodha has already submitted two PC-1s to the Planning Commission of Pakistan (PCP) in this respect.
One of the PC-1s envisions the launch of the Sargodha Institute of Muslim Civilization while the other is directed at strengthening the university’s Ph.D. programs in the Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities.

Both the initiatives will focus on the diverse features of Islamic civilization and culture and will support study on Islam through balanced dialogues across the world to enable students to learn about Islamic philosophy and culture.
Moreover, the University of Sargodha would promote cooperation with international organizations working on Islamic civilization. The Seerat-un-Nabi project by the University mainly aims at highlighting the diverse aspects of Islamic civilization and culture and promoting research through balanced dialogue on Islam across the globe.
It would also help students in understanding Islamic culture, ideology, and science. It would not be out of place to mention here that Seerat Chair had also been established at the University of Sargodha.
Seerat-un-Nabi (SAW) is the life of the Prophet (SAW). It belongs to the genre of Sirah Rasul Allah (biographies of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW)). It is about the qualities and habits of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
It was the duty of the scholars to pay special attention to the training of students in the light of the teachings of the Holy Prophet so that they become good Muslims and dutiful citizens to serve the country and the nation.
