Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed voiced that construction work on the “most important” Karachi-Quetta highway will initiate this month.
Sharing the information on Twitter, the minister said the work on the first part of the 796 km long main highway from Karachi to Khuzdar and Quetta to Chaman will begin this month, whereas its second and third sections are at procurement and feasibility stages, respectively.
“The incumbent government is building 3,300 kilometres of roads in Balochistan, which are three times more than built in the past 15 years,” Murad Saeed commented.
Besides, the minister tweeted that expenditures of the National Highway Authority (NHA) has enlarged by Rs 99 billion in the first three years of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

While talking about the three-year performance of his government from his Twitter handle, the minister conveyed that Rs 24.2 billion were recuperated by the government through accountability movement, Rs 1 billion was hoarded through austerity drive and state-owned land at valued Rs 5 billion was also saved.
Earlier this month, Murad Saeed had a visit to Umerkot and joined the “Sindh Culture Day” rally structured by Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf MNA Lal Chand Malhi and the party’s native leadership.
According to the news, Federal Minister was accompanied by the opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh, MNA Lal Chand Malhi headed the Culture Day rally in Umerkot city and acknowledged the citizens of Sindh on the “Day of Unity.”
Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the Foreign Minister also spoke to the rally through telephone. Shah Mehmood Qureshi welcomed the citizens of Sindh on “Culture Day.”
On the occasion, Murad Saeed said, “The opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh had not been allowed to speak in the Assembly and political opponents are being implicated in fake cases to keep them under pressure. Bilawal Zardari is claiming to be the champion of democracy, but Sindh Police has been used to implicate political opponents in fake cases, Murad Saeed bemoaned.”
