World reacts to assassination attempt on Imran Khan

After bullets were fired at PTI Chairman Imran Khan, tumultuous events broke out close to the PTI gathering. Imran Khan was taken to Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore after suffering a gunshot wound to the leg. 

As per police, the suspect who fired first at Khan’s container has been taken into custody. Injuries were also received by a number of other people, including PTI leader and senator Faisal Javed. 

In addition to the Pakistan Army and other political figures and government officials, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has denounced the incident and demanded a quick investigation. 

Politicians, activists, and social media users in Pakistan have all denounced the incident, but leaders from other countries have also voiced concern and anxiety. 

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the incident is “absolutely unacceptable” and “strongly condemned this violence.” 

Khan’s ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith referred to the person who prevented Khan from being killed as a “hero” and shared a picture of him on Twitter. 

Mehbooba Mufti, the leader of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party, prayed for the chairman’s “quick recovery” and denounced the “cowardly attack.” 

Arindam Bagchi, a spokesman for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, stated that they were “closely observing the situation.” 

Simranjit Singh Mann, a Lok Sabha member working for a separate state for Sikhs, expressed gratitude to God that Khan had survive the incident. Political disagreements ought to be resolved amicably rather than violently, he said. 

The attack was described as “vile” by Ramazan Izoi, the president of the Turkic World Youth Council, who added that Khan “sacrificed and endangered his life for the people of Pakistan.”

Malala Yousufzai wished the chairman a “full recovery” and stated that “attacks on leaders of any political viewpoint or party are always unacceptable.” 

If a courageous man had not stepped in, the situation could have been “severe,” according to Michael Kugelman, director of the South Asia Institute at The Wilson Center. 

According to Indian journalist Muhammad Taqi, “Pakistan cannot afford more blood, and especially not another assassinated former prime minister.” 

US Condemns Attack on Imran Khan, Urges Parties to Remain Peaceful 

There is no place for violence in politics, according to the United States, which denounced the attempted murder on Imran Khan. 

The shootings on Imran Khan at a political event is highly condemned by the US, according to US State Secretary Antony Blinken on Friday. 

We send our condolences to the family of the person who was slain and wish for a speedy recovery for him and everyone else who was hurt. 

Blinken also urged all political parties in the nation to use caution and maintain peace since “violence has no place in politics” in a tweet. 

UK Politicians Express Shock Over Murder Attempt on Imran Khan 

Foreign Secretary James Cleverly and London Mayor Sadiq Khan, among other British leaders, slammed the attack on PTI Chairman Imran Khan and prayed for a speedy recovery for him and the other victims of the violent attack. 

While tweeting, UK’s foreign secretary James Cleverly stated that he is shocked by the news of attack on Imran Khan the former prime minister of Pakistan, which also claimed one life. All those affected are in my thoughts. Politics is not a place for violence. He said. 

I’m gravely disturbed by these reports from Pakistan, Mayor Sadiq Khan tweeted. No political figure should ever be threatened or subjected to violence. At this very difficult time, my prayers are with Imran Khan and the people of Pakistan.
