On August 13, Xiaomi began rolling out the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition in China, with the first batch estimated to be ready today. Xiaomi has announced that the new update will be rolled out to international devices soon now that it has been completed.
The following devices will receive the update in the fourth quarter of the year (October-December):
- Xiaomi Mi 11
- Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra
- Xiaomi Mi 11i
- Xiaomi Mi 11X
- Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro
- Xiaomi Mi 10 5G
- Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G
- Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G
- Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro 5G
Premium phones will get it first, as usual, while those with mid-range phones may have to wait a little longer.
The list of Chinese handsets that will receive the update is longer, and because many devices have worldwide counterparts, it’s probable that we’ll see the update on even more phones than those listed above.
All About MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition
The MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, as the name suggests, is an upgraded version of the MIUI 12.5 released in December of last year. It contains several improvements and adjustments, with the primary goal of increasing optimization and longevity.
“Atomic Memory,” which optimises RAM to keep more apps running in the background, is one of its new features. Another upgrade cut CPU utilisation by up to 15% in some circumstances and up to 8% in others.
“Liquid Storage” will preserve the phone’s memory in top shape, allowing it to age more slowly. Following this upgrade, Xiaomi claims that a phone’s memory would only decrease by 5% after three years.
