Allama Iqbal Open University was founded in May 1974 with the primary goal of giving educational possibilities to the general public and those who are unable to leave their homes or occupations. The University has more than delivered on its promise over the years.
It has provided access to ladies on their doorstep and has opened up educational chances for working people. It has also made significant contributions to the realm of mass education. In the sectors of professional, scientific, and technological education, it is presently breaking new ground. It is seeking to reach Pakistan’s most distant districts. It is also attempting to use current information technology to help Pakistan promote education.
Mr. Harold Wilson, the British Prime Minister, initially proposed the concept of distance education in the late 1960s. He believed that educational possibilities should be made available to individuals who may have missed out on a better education due to early employment and who wish to improve their knowledge and abilities at home in the evenings
in your spare time. As a result, the UK Open University was founded in 1969. Since then, it has grown into a major educational institution in the United Kingdom, providing possibilities to millions of working people. Since then, the gospel of remote and open learning has expanded over the globe. On the basis of distance education, more than sixty new schools have opened around the world.
Universities are up and running. Distance education has become considerably easier and more successful thanks to modern information technology.
