Government College for Women University Public Punjab Faisalabad
In 1934, Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) began as an intermediate college. In 1944, it was upgraded to a Degree College, and postgraduate programmes were added in 1985. The long road that began with a humble beginning came to a head on January 5, 2013, when the status of University was conferred.
More over six million people live in the city and an equal number live in the neighbouring districts, thus the university caters to their requirements. It’s close to Jaranwala Road, which is close to the famous Clock Tower. The University serves as a focal point for educational, social, and cultural activities, and it maintains tight relations with the business and industrial communities.
Government College Women University Faisalabad strives to provide high-quality education and services so that students, institutions, and communities around the world can achieve their full potential.
VICE CHANCELLOR:-
Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq is the Vice Chancellor of GCWUF. She has received numerous awards, including the International Gold Medal Award for Advanced Materials (Sweden) and others. She has been recognised by being awarded eight research grants totaling more than $100 million (Swedish Research Council Grant, TDF, NRPU, Pak-China, Pak-USAID).
CAMPUSES:-
The main campus and the new campus are the two campuses of the university. The GCWUF main campus now has over 8,000 students enrolled, and this figure is expected to grow tremendously.
