In 1948, Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said (1920-1998) founded Hamdard Pakistan. Hamdard’s natural medicine goods become household names within a few years. The remarkable commercial success of Hamdard brands has become legendary in Pakistani corporate history.

When Hakim Mohammed Said founded Hamdard University in 1991, the word Hamdard took on a new meaning. His most treasured desire had always been to build a university that could revive the intellectual tradition of the golden age of Muslim civilization’s educational institutions.

Hamdaed University’s vision is to conserve and transmit knowledge by achieving the highest degree of quality on par with the world’s best institutions.

The library at Hamdard University holds the world’s largest collection of dissertations and theses, dating from 1743 to the present day and providing full text for graduate works added since 1997, as well as chosen full text for works created before 1997. It includes a large number of fresh foreign dissertations and theses, both in terms of citations and complete text.
